Fox: The Energy Department, the Department of Internal and Environmental Protection, is set to announce a new action Tuesday afternoon to “unleash” coal energy following the expected signature of an executive order to reinvigorate “American beautiful clean-coal industry.”
“Americans need more energy, and the Department of Energy will help meet this demand by unlocking a supply of affordable, reliable, safe energy sources, including coal,” Energy Department Chris Wright said in a statement Tuesday provided to Fox News Digital.
“Coal is essential to generating 24/7 power generation that runs American homes and businesses, but misguided policies from previous administrations have curtailed this important American industry,” he said. “President Trump’s leadership has led us to cut off the deficit and regain common sense.”
Trump is expected to sign an executive order Tuesday afternoon to cut the deficit surrounding the coal industry. This will direct the National Energy Control Council to designate coal as a “mineral,” and encourage current suspensions to coal leases on federal land, promote coal and coal technology exports, promote the use of coal, and encourage the initiatives of artificial intelligence that exist.
Biden is blocking new mining in areas that produce around 40% of the country’s coal. “That’s a disaster.”

The Energy Division and the Internal and the EPA will take action in support of Trump’s executive order on Tuesday. This will end the current moratorium on federal coal mines at Coal Mines, the press release first obtained by Fox Digital Show, and remove the regulatory burden on the mines.
Cole is still key to US energy control, says the governor of West Virginia.
“The golden age is here, and we are beginning to become ‘my, baby, mine’ because of clean American coal,” Doug Burgum’s Department of Home Affairs said in a statement provided to Fox News Digital. “The interior unlocks America’s maximum potential in energy domination and economic development, showing the world the power of America’s natural resources and innovation, while making life more affordable for all American families.”

The Home Office explained that “the administration is removing long-standing regulatory barriers that have undermined American coal production” by expanding ACCE into coal reserves and cutting off the red tape surrounding the permitting process.
“These efforts will support wage mining jobs and the rural economy, and strengthen the independence of US energy by reducing dependence on foreign energy sources,” the press release said. “Coal is a key component of our safe, stable and diverse American energy portfolio.”

At the Department of Energy, Wright will announce five initiatives to enhance coal innovation and mineral independence, Fox Digital has learned. Five actions include: The revival of the National Coal Council. It promotes new investments in coal-powered power generation. Designation of steel coal as an important material and mineral. Development of mineral extraction technology from coal ash. Commercialization of coal ash conversion technology.
The National Coal Council is a 50-member federal advisory committee founded in 1984, but the charter expired in 2021 under the Biden administration. The council acted as a government guide, navigating coal technology and markets. In the wake of the council, the council will include coal producers, users, equipment suppliers, state and local officials and other stakeholders, according to a Department of Energy press release, first obtained on Tuesday.

The Energy Sector Loan Program Office’s Energy Infrastructure Reliability (EIR) program will be able to utilize $200 billion in funding for coal energy investments, including upgrading energy infrastructure and building new facilities that utilize legacy energy infrastructure.
The Ministry of Energy also works with the Ministry of Home Affairs to recommend that coal be designated as a key material and key mineral in the 2025 Key Material Assessment in the steelmaking context.

“This strategic designation ensures that the United States maintains a stable supply of steel coal for decades to come, highlighting the important role of steel coal in enhancing national security and economic stability,” the Energy sector explained the initiative.

The department is also expected to focus on coal ash. In particular, new patented technology is adopted to extract important minerals from coal ash and commercialize the recovery of important minerals from coal ash.

“The energy sector is committed to restoring American energy control and strengthening American industrial bases,” the Department of Energy said of the initiative. “Secretary Wright will continue to work with all members of the National Energy Control Council to eliminate the unnecessary regulatory burden of coal and unleash America’s energy.”
The EPA will make state and tribal support grant funds available to $5.8 million in state and tribal support grant funds in the implementation of Zeldin’s EPA-approved state coal burning residual programs. Plans and revisions to coal regulations.
“President Trump is fulfilling the duty that Americans gave him last November. He will strengthen various forms of domestic energy and pioneer the path to becoming the world’s artificial intelligence capital, increasing domestic energy supply and improving grid security.”
“The Obama and the Biden administration have deliberately sought to regulate the absence of coal. Under my leadership, economic growth and environmental management are not mutually exclusive choices. We are committed to supporting all forms of energy, including clean, beautiful coal, and have already strengthened America’s energy domination, making it affordable and once again affordable.

Producing energy at home in the US was the cornerstone of Trump’s campaign, and the candidate at the time vowed that the US would no longer rely on foreign countries on oil by revitalizing the coal industry and tapping on US oil.

“We will develop liquid gold under the feet, including American oil and natural gas, and we will also employ nuclear, clean coal, hydroelectric power and all other forms of affordable energy to make it happen,” Trump said in 2023.

Tuesday’s executive order is built on Trump’s pledge to provide cheaper energy costs for Americans, while also providing Americans with independence, and is expected to follow previous actions, including withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement, ending a liberal climate plan called the Green New Deal in a January executive order, and reverse the reflux of liquefied natural exports.
