Immigration officials were seen at Santa Fe Springs Swap Meat on Saturday, according to eyewitnesses.
Many people left the Father’s Day concert held in the space after federal agents showed up. Videos taken from Swap Meet showed several agents in tactical gear and masks restraining at least one person.
“Well, I saw them running there like animals, like animals,” one witness said. “They run there and run there as if they’re going to drive animals out of their cages or whatever, do you know? Be scary.”
A woman who saw the events said the fear that some attendees had clearly felt was clear.
“People were walking really fast with the kids,” she said. “The kids could see the horror of their faces and tears in their faces. It was just crazy.”
It is unclear how many people were detained in total.
The immigrant attack came as tens of thousands of demonstrators took them to the streets of Southern California as part of a nationwide “king” protest. The rally was opposed to President Donald Trump’s policies.
Los Angeles has experienced more than a week of protests against the administration’s immigration policy after many undocumented immigrants have been detained by federal agents.
