A federal judge in Colorado issued an order Friday blocking immigration officers from deporting “ice abolition” activists and illegal immigrant Janet Vizguera.
The order issues a temporary injunction to local ICE staff Johnny Choato and Ernesto Santa Cruz, DHS Executive Director Christie Noem and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondy to remove Vizuguera.
Vizguerra, 53, is a Mexican citizen who has been illegally present in the country for many years. After an expulsion order was issued against her, Vizguerra voluntarily left the country in 2012, but returned to illegal a year later.
While in the US, Vizguera became an outspoken advocate for abolishing ice and making it more tolerant of reforming immigration laws.

She was arrested by ICE in Aurora, Colorado on Monday. This is a move that sparked national controversy in which many Democrats and the media are rushing to her defense.
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston was one of those who condemned Vizguera’s arrest, saying, “This is not immigration enforcement. It is Soviet-style political persecution of political opposition under the guise of immigration enforcement.”

The order issued by US District Judge Nina Wang on Friday said: “In light of these extraordinary circumstances, this court honorably concludes that an injunction is necessary to preserve the status quo and allow this court an opportunity to consider the issues raised by both sides.”
The order states that government officials must not “removal” until the court or the 10th Circuit has left the order.
The order argues that Vizguerra’s case “supposes complex issues,” but Andrew Arthur, a former immigration judge and policy expert at the Center for Immigration Studies, told Fox News Digital that the case was simple.

“This is a woman who has illegally entered the US twice… She is subject to removal from the US and is removable,” Arthur said. “Simply because she opposes US immigration policies, she doesn’t try to avoid removing her exemption.

“It’s like someone who steals a bank, puts him in prison, steals another bank and complains about the US penalty system,” he said. “Just because you’re thinking about imprisonment rates in this country doesn’t mean you’re not yet subject to any kind of reaction due to subsequent illegal activities.”
Matt O’Brien, director of the Immigration Reform Law Institute, a watchdog group that opposes abuse of immigration law, told Fox News Digital that despite the uproar, Vizguerra’s arrest would be “100% justified.”

He said Vizguerra, “the only reason,” had avoided arrest for a long time. “Because Colorado and the Biden administration were conspiring to help her stay in the US through the application of false policies that encouraged more lawless behavior and left Americans safe and secure.”

R-Colo, a freshman lawmaker, including part of North Denver. Rep. Gabe Evans also commented on the Vizguerra case, proving to Fox News Digital that Colorado Democrats don’t want to deport criminal Erien.
Evans says Colorado Democrats will always say they want to work with the federal government to remove unlawful criminal immigrants and respect court orders signed by federal judges. Janet Vizguera is eligible for these categories, but Democrats still oppose her arrest.
