A federal judge on Friday said government efficiency, or Doge would not immediately block access to the labor system.
US District Judge John Bates said he is concerned about Doge, but the unions he sued to block access to the system have not yet provided evidence of legal injuries.
“The court is concerned about the alleged conduct of the defendant, but at this time it must deny the plaintiff’s claim,” Bates wrote.
The Labor Bureau is investigating companies such as SpaceX and Tesla, owned by Elon Musk, who leads Doge to keep records of these investigations. The department also has information on trade secrets of the companies’ competitors, the union said in the lawsuit.

The department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has investigated and fined SpaceX and Tesla over workers’ safety, the union said.
The Labor Bureau’s system includes the medical and financial records of millions of Americans, including those who filed safety complaints about their employers.
The ruling comes after the Trump administration agreed earlier this week that it would not receive access to the Labor Department until the court’s decision.
The Department of Justice said that three DOGE staff have been assigned to the Labor Bureau and report to the proxy secretary, but they have been made special government officials and are concerned with businesses or workers when conducting reviews. He said confidential information must be followed by law.

The Musk’s Doge team gained access to the sensitive Treasury payment system, but the judges later said they had a Treasury Department that included sensitive personal data, including social security and bank account numbers for millions of Americans. Blocked access to records. Doge also provided financial incentives to largely demolish the US International Development Agency and resign to millions of federal workers.
“At every stage, Doge is crucial to laws that protect civil servants from the constitutional restrictions of executive powers, laws that protect civil servants from arbitrary threats and adverse actions, and government data collected and stored in hundreds of millions of Americans. “It violates protections,” violates union lawyers,” was represented by the Advocacy Group Democracy Forward.

Labor leadership this week told union members Doge visited and told workers “whatever they ask, they don’t push back and ask questions,” the union wrote.

The Justice Department said there was no evidence of fraud and that the judge should not “issued a drastic, preventative order based on plaintiffs’ rank speculation that the DOL violates the law.”
19 states are suing for access to Doge’s federal payment system.
