Sen. John Fetterman presented a silver-plated beeper during his visit with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after lawmakers praised Israel’s secret operations worn by Lebanon’s Hezbollah terrorists.
Fetterman repeatedly expressed his support for Israel as he invaded Democrats, who are critical of Israeli military operations in Gaza, demanding Hamas be returned to all hostages taken by the terrorist groups on October 7, 2023.
He was visiting Netanyahu’s office in Jerusalem this week.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented Democratic Sen. John Fetterman with silver-plated beepers to commemorate the operation using pagers against Hezbollah leaders and operatives. Fetterman visited Israel and showed his support in his battle with a terrorist group that attacked on October 7, 2023, killing more than 1,200 people and taking many hostages. “Hamas doesn’t want peace. I will force myself to stand 100% with Israel and demand the release of all the remaining hostages,” he wrote on X on Tuesday.
During the exchange of gifts, Fetterman gave Netanyahu a framed news article in commemoration of Netanyahu’s brother, fallen Israeli soldier Yoni Netanyahu, about the efforts that Netanyahu had portrayed in Philadelphia, where Netanyahu lived as a teenager.
The fallen prime minister’s brother is considered an Israeli hero after being killed in an Israeli attack in Uganda in a 1976 Israeli raid during the rescue of 102 hostages filmed by German and Palestinian terrorists in an airplane hijacking.
Netanyahu then went back and forth with his gift.
“What can you give to someone who has it all? Why not give him Beeple?” Netanyahu said. “This is a silver-plated beeper. A real beeper weighs a tenth of a factor. That’s nothing, but history changes.”

Beeper refers to Israel’s operations in September 2024, when a pager exploded used by members of Lebanon’s Hezbollah.
“When that story broke, I was like, ‘Oh, I love it, I love it.’ And now, I’m grateful for this,” Fetterman replied.
The operation occurred before Israel killed Hezbollah’s leader Hassan Nasrara and killed Israel’s Lebanon’s earth invasion several weeks before. The conflict ended in late November with a ceasefire.
