LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Fire crews worked quickly to extinguish a new wildfire near Hansen Canyon Dam in the northeastern San Fernando Valley Tuesday night.
Aerial footage from Sky5 showed the fire near an apartment complex on Foothill Boulevard. It was estimated to be approximately half an acre in size as of 5:20 p.m.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart told KTLA 5 News that no evacuation orders have been issued.
Ground crews who arrived on the scene shortly after the fire broke out were able to stop the fire from spreading to the apartment complex’s carport, Sky5 video showed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
This latest fire comes a week after the deadly wind-driven Palisades and Eaton fires destroyed more than 15,000 structures in Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Altadena and Pasadena as wind conditions worsened in Santa Ana. The incident occurred as firefighters across Southern California were on high alert.
