The 26-year-old Riverside County man has been arrested in connection with a cold case murder from 2019, officials announced Monday.
In November 2019, Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies were assigned to Perris Station to report a shooting in the 700 block of East 7th Avenue.
At the scene, authorities found three people suffering from bullet injuries, two of whom were rushed to hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The third victim, 22-year-old Santiagodias of Peris, was declared dead at the scene.
“The investigators assigned to Riverside Sheriff’s Central Murder Unit were envisaged in response to the investigation,” the RCSD news release said. “Unfortunately, after a massive investigation, the incident has become cold without arrest.”

The central murder detective began watching the case again in late 2024 and reopened the investigation after identifying new evidence, authorities said.

“On March 27, 2025, Whittle was arrested for his involvement in the murder and was later booked at Robert Presley Detention Center,” the release said.
Ongoing investigations do not provide additional details.
