Officials from the New York City Chief Medical Inspection Bureau confirmed last month that Food Network star Anne Burrell took her own life, according to multiple media reports.
The beloved 55-year-old celebrity chef, host of the network’s “The Worst Cook in America,” was found in the shower on June 17th and was unresponsive with an assortment of about 100 tablets surrounding her.
The 911 call took place around 7:50am, and reporting parties told the operator they were concerned they had suffered from cardiac arrest.
Paramedics responded to the apartment and declared Burrell had passed away.
Her death was caused by “acute poisoning due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine and amphetamine,” according to a report by the Chief Medical Inspector.
Both cetirizine and diphenhydramine are antihistamines. Amphetamines are often used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, while ethanol is a compound found in alcohol.

The final season of “The Worst Cooks” with celebrity chef co-host Gabe Bertaccini is scheduled to premiere on July 28th, but Food Network ran some of the most popular episodes with fans on June 28th in a row in tribute to her legacy.
The bodies of people who died on international flights to California are reportedly reportedly reported
Barrel’s co-star Tyler Florence on the seven-season show described her as “Mensa Smart with the wit and integrity of a razor.”
“I’m heartbroken,” he wrote.
Other food network celebrities such as Bobby Frey, Giada de Laurentis and Alex Guarnachelli also paid tribute to Barrel, who started out with the network as a sou chef for “Iron Chef America.”
“Cake Boss” star Buddy Varastro also went to Instagram to share a homage to Barrel.
“Anne, your passion, energy, and love for food have illuminated every kitchen,” he wrote. “You were a true power and a beautiful soul. Rest in peace, Chef. We will miss you very much.”
