House Oversight Committee Chairman James Kommer, R-KY. issued a subpoena to former President Joe Biden’s vice-Chief of Staff on Friday to appear on the committee, providing testimony about the mental state of his former boss while working in the oval office.
Kommer, who heads the House Committee on Surveillance and Government Reform, sent requests for interviews to four major Biden White House aides, including the president’s former assistant and deputy chiefs of staff Annie Tomasini.
The former assistant’s voluntary appearance was requested on May 22, 2025 and was scheduled to appear before the committee on July 18 or this Friday.
However, for unknown reasons, Tomasini’s lawyers demand that a subpoena be issued to force Comer to appear on her.

Comer broke the events leading up to a summons with his letter to Tomasini before inviting her to the bottom of the letter for legal demands.
“The Commission seeks information on former President Biden’s assessment and relationships, and will investigate whether it is time for Congress to reconsider any potential legislation and address the oversight to serve under its authority under Section 4 of the 25th Amendment, or to propose changes to the 25th Amendment itself?”
“The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is the main oversight committee of U.S. House members and has broad authority to investigate “anytime” and “any issue” under House Rule X,” he continued. “In addition, House XI Clause 2(M)(1)(b) requires the House Committee of Committees to request the authority to request the attendance and testimony of such witnesses, such as subpoena, and the production of such books, records, communications, memorandums, papers and documents.

Comer added that if Tomasini has any questions, they will need to call the oversight committee and the majority staff of government reform.
Chair previously told Fox News that these “unelected bureaucrats” had an overwhelming influence on Biden, perhaps “effectively” as president in his place.
Along with Tomasini, the committee submitted an interview request to the former director of the National Policy Council, Neelatanden, a former senior adviser to former female Anthony Bernal and former deputy director of Ashley Williams, Oval Office Office Operations.

Also, Bernal was summoned after refusing to appear voluntarily before the committee.
Williams and Tanden have already been interviewed by committee members.

In an interview with Piers Morgan last month, Tupper said what Biden’s aides did to hide their condition could be “even worse” than in the Watergate scandal during Richard Nixon’s presidency.
“It’s a scandal. It’s unquestionable and perhaps even worse than Watergate in some respects,” Tupper said. “The only reason we call Watergate is to make it clear that it’s not Watergate. This is a completely separate scandal and perhaps even worse.”
Comer said that “new details about President Biden’s apparent declined demand have updated White House personnel actions and related information during the course of previous administrations,” while the committee investigated the cover-up for almost a year.

Comer said the committee “understands who made the important decisions and exercised administrative authority during the Biden administration.”
