Former Disney Channel actress Christy Carlson Romano says she was shot in the face during her husband’s birthday event on Friday.
Romano, best known for appearing in “The Uniform Stevens” and uttering the title character of “Kim Possibility,” and recently a contestant in “Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test.” And so I explained what happened on Saturday.
“It wasn’t funny,” the 40-year-old Romano said in a video message.
In the caption, Romano said he took her husband to shoot a clay dove as a birthday gift. But “we had another party with us and they were put in danger in the wrong direction and shot in the face.”
Romano’s husband took her to St. David South Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas, where doctors worked to clean the wounds, she said.

“I was hit in five places, one less than an inch from hitting me directly with my right eye,” she wrote. “Unfortunately, the fragment remains behind my eyes and is too dangerous for surgically removal at this time. My doctor will continue to monitor me (it looks normal at this time).”
In the video, Romano thanked the first responders and doctors who treated her. She also urged fans to thank them for their health.
“I, as I say, I was shot in the face and lived to tell stories,” Romano said. “Please be grateful every day.”
