Former R-FLA Rep. Lincoln Diaz Barato passed away at the age of 70.

Lincoln Diaz Barato served Floridians as a Republican. Cuban refugees were first caught up in politics after “leading a young Democrat in Florida and running a failed campaign for the Florida Legislature in 1982,” his congressional biographies state.
He officially switched party loyalty in 1985 and was elected to the Florida State Legislature in 1986.
