TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is being asked to try a murder case in connection with a celebrity boxing event held in Miami last month, according to the Washington Post.
According to a former NFL star and video posted on social media, authorities have taken Brown into custody after being said he was involved in a battle with several people at a May 16 boxing event hosted by popular streamer Adinros.
In the video, he was seen holding a black pistol, apparently when he chased someone. The shot will be heard from the camera shortly afterwards. Additional videos showed Brown reaching behind his back and being escorted from the venue by officers.
According to ESPN, the former football player was detained for several hours before taking him to social media, claiming he was “jumped” by people trying to steal the gem and cause “physical harm.”

The warrant obtained by the post said the video showed that the brown was punching the man before stole the gun from the guard and ran towards him. Police said the video on their phones was squealing two gunshots.
The victim was grazed around his neck with a bullet. The warrant said the struggle continued on top of the gun before police arrived. The victim said he had known Brown since 2022, but was taken to hospital.
Brown played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2010 to 2018, appearing as one of the top threats in the NFL, leading the yards twice. His career took down a recession due to a variety of on-field and off-field issues, including the Oakland Raiders’ contract being voided before the start of the 2019 season.
He split the final three NFL seasons in New England and Tampa Bay, and his career ended with stripping off his jersey, pads and gloves. Brown announced his retirement a few months later.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
