The Torrance man faces multiple charges after being identified as someone who allegedly placed hidden cameras in the bathroom and changing rooms of a children’s dance studio in Hermosa Beach.
Jourdyn Godoy, 25, worked as a receptionist at Hermosa School of Dance and Music, in the 1100 block of Aviation Boulevard, where cameras hidden in an evil basket last month were found.
Jourdyn Godoy is shown in undated photos provided by the Hermosa Beach Police Station.
On Tuesday, he was charged with felony child pornography and misdemeanor of child nuisance and privacy aggression, Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a news release.
“Invading privacy in a place where it should be completely safe for a child’s privacy is a violation of grotesque trust, safety and basic human decency,” Hochman said. “We do everything in our power to keep this individual fully accountable. Children and adults don’t have to worry about being secretly recorded in such private spaces.”
He is scheduled to be arrested Wednesday at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, and prosecutors hope that his bail will be set at $55,000.
Jail records show that bail is currently set at $100,000.
If convicted of all charges, he faces up to four years in state prisons.
