Former Red Hot Chile Peppers guitarist Josh Clinhofer accepted a plea deal to avoid prison time in the Alhambra, California last March in relation to the death of a pedestrian.
According to Rolling Stone, 45, Klinhofer pleaded not guilty of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter on Wednesday without gross negligence in the Alhambra court. He received one year of informal probation and 60 days of community work.
Klinghoffer was driving a 2022 GMC Yukon when he hit and killed 47-year-old Israel Sanchez on a crosswalk on March 18, 2024. The security video of the incident was called 911 by Klinghoffer immediately stopped.

Sanchez suffered a blunt force trauma to his head and died of injuries several hours later.
Clinhofer also faces an unlawful death and negligence lawsuit filed by the victim’s daughter, Ashley Sanchez.
Klinghoffer joined Los Angeles-based Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2009 after guitarist John Frusciante’s departure. When he was appointed to the band at the age of 32 in 2012, he became the youngest member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
He left the group in 2019 when Frusciante returned and later performed with Pearl Jam and Jane’s addiction.
