A former Riverside County sheriff’s deputy has been arrested on charges of stalking and kidnapping.
On November 27, authorities received a report that a woman was being stalked by Alexander Vanney, 33.
An investigation was launched and authorities “uncovered evidence that Vanney had committed additional felonies.”
On December 19, Vanney was arrested on charges of kidnapping, stalking, and other felonies.
Vanney was previously arrested in June 2024 on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman who was volunteering with the sheriff’s department.
At the time, Vanney was still employed as a lieutenant. The woman reported the assault to another deputy, who reported it to his supervisor, according to the Press-Enterprise.
