Dean Kane is soon sworn in as an agent for immigration and customs enforcement.
That’s what he told Fox News’ Jesse Watters on his show “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Wednesday night.
Cain, who famously played Superman in the 90s television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, revealed to Watters that he will be sworn as an ice agent “as soon as possible.”
“Jesse, this is your fault, by the way,” he laughed. “Yesterday I put out a recruitment video. I’m actually a deputy sheriff, an oath deputy sheriff, a sanctuary police officer. I wasn’t part of the ice, but I put it there and you advertised a bit to your show.
Cain is sworn in as a reserve police officer for the St. Anthony Police Station and the Pocatello Police Station in Idaho. He is also the Frederick County Deputy Sheriff of the Virginia Sheriff’s Office.
On Tuesday, the actor posted a video on Instagram to encourage people to join the agency.
This means that the Trump administration wants to hire 10,000 new executives as ice is currently employed. To help with this, they offer incentives such as a signature bonus of up to $50,000, student loan repayments of up to $60,000, and a 25% premium salary.
The agency is reaching out even to retired law enforcement officers. On Wednesday, Homeland Security’s Department of Homeland Security Christa Noem announced that he was removing the age limit for new applicants.
Prior to this, the age limit was 40 years old.
Cain is currently 59 years old.
Ice agents often wear masks during immigrant raids, but Cain said he wouldn’t.
“I’ve just completely removed myself now,” he revealed to Watters. “And as much as my parents want me to wear a mask, they’re afraid of it and don’t have a chance in hell.”
A solid supporter of Donald Trump, Cain was known last month when he denounced his immigrant views of James Gunn for calling James Gunn the director of the new “Superman” film immigrant.
“For Superman, it was the truth, justice, and the American way. Well, they dropped it. “I think changing your beloved character is a great idea. If you want to create a new character, go ahead. But for me, Superman always stands up to the truth, justice, and the American way, and the American way is immigrant-friendly and very immigrant-friendly, but there are rules.”
So far, it is unclear when Cain will be officially sworn as an ice agent. KTLA 5 reaches out to DHS and waits for a response.
