Fortnite players get extra time for cash out.
The Federal Trade Commission announced Wednesday that gamers, their parents and guardians have resumed the process for filing a refund claim arising from the 2023 settlement with Fortnite developer Epic Games.
Epic Games has agreed to pay $245 million to resolve the FTC claim. This was used by the company to trick players into making unnecessary purchases using deceptive practices.
The FTC issued its first refund in December, bringing 629,344 payments totaling over $72 million.
The next refund will be sent to consumers who have filed a valid request with 969,173 checks and PayPal payments totaling over $126 million on June 25th and June 26th.
Customers who are eligible and have not yet filed a claim will still have the opportunity to participate in the settlement. What should you know about this:

Who is eligible to apply for a Fortnite refund?
You can file a refund request if you meet the following qualifications:
In-game currency was charged for items you didn’t want between January 2017 and September 2022. Your child charged a credit card without knowledge between January 2017 and November 2018. The account was locked after suing a credit card company for an illegal claim between January 2017 and September 2022.
You must be at least 18 years of age to file a claim. Anyone under the age of 18 must complete the form by a parent or guardian.
How much is a refund for Fortnite?
According to the FTC, the amount of payments depends on several factors, including the number of people submitting the claim.
The average payment for the first round of refunds was $114, while the payment from the second round of refunds averaged around $130.

Qualified customers may choose to receive a refund via check or PayPal.
When will I receive a refund for Fortnite?
The FTC plans to submit additional payments in 2026 after reviewing and verifying all claims. It said that additional information will be released at a later date.
