President Donald Trump will attend a joint Congress meeting on Tuesday, March 4th at 9pm ET.
Forums are not officially in the state of union speeches, but are traditionally held in the second, third and fourth years of the presidency.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) invited Trump to address Congress on Tuesday earlier this month.
“Thanks to your strong leadership and bold actions during the first few days of the presidency, the United States is already experiencing a revival of patriotism, unity and hope for the future,” Johnson wrote in the first letter to Trump from Fox News Digital.

“The parliament where your administration and the 119th Parliament work together have the opportunity to make these four years some of the most important in our country’s history,” the speaker wrote.
“To that end, it is my clear honor and great privilege to invite you to attend a joint Congress meeting in the US House of Representatives on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Fox News Channel, Fox News Digital and Fox News Go live coverage of the event Tuesday evening.
Fox News Channel also previews speeches during prime time and afternoon programming.

He will be followed by hosting Judge Dana Perino, Greg Gutfeld, Judge Jeanine Pirro and “The Five” for further coverage leading up to the event.

Chief political anchor Bret Bayer continues reporting at 6pm in his “Special Report” at 6pm, followed by Lowline Graham and “Ingraham Angle” at 7pm. Before Jesse Watters offered the curtain lazer just before the 8pm address for “Jesse Watters Primetime.”
Although it is officially a joint session speech, historically these speeches tend to follow the same habits as the official state of the Union Forum.
The latter is required by the Constitution under Article II, Article 2. 3 – Provides that the President must provide Congress with information on the status of the union and provide legislative recommendations.
Before audiovisual and digital age, addresses tended to come in printed form.
Former President Woodrow Wilson targeted his first speech since former President John Adams.
The title itself, “State of the Union,” was standardized in the 1940s by former President Harry S. Truman. Truman also provided the state of the first aired coalition as radio gave way to television.
Former President Lyndon Baines Johnson has begun the tradition of primetime speeches.

During such speeches, if all three branches of the government are normally present, one member of the president’s cabinet will be named “designated survivors” and stay at home from address if terrorism or another catastrophe leads to all deaths that have gathered in the room.
The US Senate holds a record of each designated survivor when former HUD secretary Samuel Pierce Jr. is designated as a potential leader in the country if former President Ronald Reagan and all of the attendees die.
Notable designated survivors include former President Bill Clinton’s speech in 1999, former Secretary of Commerce Bill Daly, son of the famous Chicago Democratic boss in 1998, and former Secretary of Commerce Bill Daly, son of Governor Eric Holder in 2009, then-New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
More recently, former President Joe Biden’s education director, Miguel Cardona, was a 2024-designated survivor.
