For at least six months, the suspect drove to the neighborhood of a dark Nissan Titan SUV, and his hazard lights continued to flash.
Surveillance video showed him leaving the car and walking up the driveway before jumping over the fence and sneaking into his backyard.
“I don’t know exactly what he’s doing,” said a neighbor named Frank. “He might be someone trying to steal things.
The suspect refuses to hide his face with a mask or hoodie.
“Why is this guy doing this to us?” Maria said.
A neighbor on the street said no one knows the man or what his motive was. He returned again Tuesday night, but this time things escalated. Using a pocket knife, he punctured the tires of vehicles parked outside several homes.
Security cameras captured partial license plate numbers on the male truck.
Residents said they asked police for help but were told that officers would not respond to the scene if no one was injured or stolen.
For now, the neighbors felt helpless and said they remained vigilant as the suspect remains on a massive scale. Many people are worried about conflicts that can become dangerous or fatal.
“What if something more serious happens?” Maria said.
Residents have filed police reports and said they hope that they will be caught soon after the hiding.
Anyone with information about the suspect can call the Los Angeles Police Department at 1-877-527-3247.
