Saturday’s protest is scheduled for the same day as Trump’s birthday, when the president hosted a massive military parade in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Army.

A riot broke out in Los Angeles on Friday evening, June 6th, after federal law enforcement officials gathered in the city to carry out an immigrant raid. State and local leaders such as Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and government Gavin Newsom quickly condemned the attack on public statements, offering words of support to illegal immigrants in the state.
Protests against the attack quickly fell into violence as rioters targeted federal law enforcement officials in videos showing rioters plundering local shops, setting cars on fire and taking over the highway, including video showing them.

Trump announced last weekend that 2,000 National Guard members would be deployed to quell the violence, but the administration deployed hundreds more Marines to respond to anti-immigrant turmoil on Monday evening when the violence continued.
