Orange County, California District Attorney Todd Spitzer said there is no “pending contract” in the case of illegal immigrants convicted of manslaughter in the deaths of two teens after a new scrutiny over their early release from a California prison.
“As California Gov. Gavin Newsom and the state legislature refuse to liability for criminals, he is released after a convicted felon who was deported twice served only a portion of his sentence for killing two 19-year-olds,” the Republican said in a news release Wednesday.
“This was not a plea agreement. This was a defendant who had been sued in court and sentenced by a judge under California law, and did not argue the largest ruling on the Orange County prosecutor’s objection.”

“California’s fun times, education and creative concoctions of other credits have led to criminals being released earlier than ever before, fulfilling Newsom’s plot to empty California prisons and bring dangerous, violent felons back on the streets,” Spitzer added.
Oscar Eduardo Ortega Anguiano was drunk on the 405 highway in Orange County in November 2021 and was speeding at high speed. Both were killed and burned alive. In the spring of 2022, he was convicted of two counts of total vehicle manslaughter while drunk.
The victim’s family was notified on Easter Sunday that Ortega Anguiano would be released on July 19, more than six years before his 10-year sentence was postponed.

However, after Fox News’ report, the Democrat’s Newsom government office said it would comply with immigrants and customs enforcement detainees and transfer him to federal custody. The Justice Department announced it was filing a federal charge against him, and border area Tom Homan said his agency would do everything possible to detain him.
“After being deported in 2013, the individual illegally rejoined the United States and committed a heinous crime. The GOP DA then gave him a plea deal instead of pursuing a second-degree murder. On Thursday morning, Bill Essayli, a US lawyer for the Central District of California, told the “American Newsroom” why DOJ is pursuing federal prosecution.
“This is what happens when we have an open border policy like we did in our previous administrations. But the day is over. Under this administration, our borders are closed,” the essay said.
“I made it a top priority in my office, and I know all over the US to enforce our immigration laws. So, he’s not going to be free. He’s not deported. He’s coming to my jurisdiction, and we’re going to prosecute him.”
