First on Fox: Senate Republicans are reintroducing legislation to make law enforcement an enforcement crime for immigrants in a new immigration push to Congress.

Sen. Ted Budd, RN.C. is reintroducing the Immigration Control and Enforcement (Police) Act to protect our law enforcement agencies.

The bill would explicitly attack coercive crimes against law enforcement officers. The legislation has struggled to advance in the Democratic-run Senate and is expected to have a better chance of success now that Republicans have a majority. I have a version at home too.

‘The tide is changing’: Dozens of co-sponsors, including Dems, push to codify key Trump-era policies

The bill states that “a person who has been convicted of a crime, who admits to having committed, or who admits to having committed an act constituting a crime with the essential elements, including assaulting a law enforcement officer, is in the negative.” states.

“One of the best ways we can support law enforcement officers and protect the public is by deporting dangerous people who harm them,” Budd said in a statement on Fox News Digital.

“Our legislators must always support the men and women who protect and serve our communities. We must act on this important proposal.”

The bill includes Sen. Thom Tillis, RN.C. There are 12 co-sponsors in the upper chamber, including Steve Daines, R-Mont, Katie Britt, R-Ara, Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and James. Lankford R-Okla.

Trump’s Ice racks up hundreds of arrests, including illegal immigrants arrested for terror crimes

The bill comes after President Trump’s Laken Riley Act, which would require Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention of undocumented immigrants charged with theft-related crimes, passed both chambers of Congress with bipartisan support. appeared the same week it was sent to his desk. Trump is expected to sign the measure.

Lawmakers also introduced other anti-illegal immigration measures, including bills to restore what remains of the Mexico program and reduce humanitarian parole and temporary protected status.

Federal agencies have made similar moves, including reducing restrictions on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in sensitive areas and ordering a review of federal agencies’ use of parole.
