First Fox: Senator Mike Round said he had debated with President Trump’s White House to revive the bill and codify the latest executive order.
His administration had met with longtime defenders, from the very anticipated executive order to abolish the department: the Round.
His office shared with Fox News Digital that the Senator and Trump’s White House spoke about retrieving his bill to abolish the department and promote it.

The Round plans to reintroduce the bill now that Trump has signed the executive order.
“The federal education bureaucracy has never educated a single student,” the senator told Fox News Digital in a statement. “It’s time to shut it down. Today’s news is a step in the right direction. Congress must follow the administrative lead and act accordingly. I’m working on legislation to return education decisions to states and local school districts, maintaining key programs like special education and Title I.

Trump will hold an executive order after signing it on March 20, 2025 in the East Room of the White House in Washington.
He introduced in his final legislature “returning education back to our state” but it never came to the floor controlled by Democrats.
The round of bills will abolish the Department of Education and charge various other departments for specific responsibilities and programs currently under management.
“One of the things that are done very early in the administration is to close the Department of Education in Washington, D.C. and send all the necessary education and education jobs back to the state.”

He previewed plans to do so for months before signing Thursday’s executive order.
At the signing ceremony, Trump explained, “… useful features of the department, such as Pergrant, Title 1 funding resources for children with disabilities, will be preserved and fully preserved.”

“They will be fully preserved and redistributed to various other institutions and departments.

“But beyond these core essentials, my administration will take all legal steps to shut down the department.”
Fox News Digital reached out to the White House but did not receive a response immediately.
