Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk threatened to support the key challenges of GOP Senators who voted in favor of President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” prompting a pushback from the senators who spoke to Fox News Digital.
“I will take President Trump’s support to bring President Trump back to his hometown any day,” Kansas GOP Sen. Roger Marshall told Fox News Digital.
“Look, we need to pass this bill because it helps us fulfill President Trump’s agenda. His priorities were to secure borders and restore prosperity and security. If we do those things, I think we’ll be re-elected if we bring prosperity and security back.
Alabama GOP Sen. Tommy Tuberville told Fox News Digital that the “final line” “is going to be 51 of us going to vote for this tonight.”

“I saw some of the things he’s upset about, subsidies that we’re cutting out energy, you know, wind and the sun. He thinks we need to do more with energy. I agree with that, but we can’t keep going through it and funding.
Missouri GOP Sen. Schmidt praised mask work at Doge, saying he should “pay respect” the former Doge chief and congratulate him on “incredible things” for finding waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government.
“Everyone has a right to receive their opinions,” Schmidt said.
GOP Tennessee Sen. Bill Hagerty told Fox News Digital that by the time the primary election takes place in 2026, he “already sees the benefits of the bill.”
“We’re going to see more growth and tax benefits, more revenue benefits. So I don’t think the fate and darkness predicted by many will actually be revealed,” Hagerty explained. “In fact, I think we are opening the door to a new golden age, as President Trump likes to say.”

South Dakota GOP Sen. John Haven pushed back criticism that the bill would increase the deficit by claiming that revenue growth and savings would reduce the deficit.
“I think people realize that he didn’t like the big beautiful bill he knows,” Hoeven said. “So I don’t know that people paid this time.”
When asked if he thought the main threat of masks would hurt medium-term Republicans, Marshall said, “I’ve never thought of it again today.”
“In Kansas, it’s probably going to be a big speed bump in certain states that aren’t that many. I think President Trump was very popular in most of these states. I think we need to find a way to get Elon to board. He’s a smart guy and brings a lot to our economy.
Musk strengthened this week’s continued feud with Trump and his allies with political warnings that he would work to free them if he voted in favor of Trump’s bill.
“Those who have campaigned on the promise of reducing spending, but who continue to vote for the biggest debt cap in history will see the faces of this poster in next year’s primary election,” Musk posted on X on Monday evening.

On Tuesday morning, Trump warned that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is “a monster that could have to go back and eat Elon.”
“Doge is a monster that might have to go back and eat Elon. Isn’t that awful?” Trump told the media as he set out on a trip to the Florida Everglades on Tuesday morning to visit the new immigration detention center. “He’s got a lot of subsidies, but Elon was very upset that the EV mandate was over.”
His response followed questions about whether the South African native would deport Musk. Trump replied, “I don’t know, we have to see.”
