Exclusive: Republican New York Sen. Bill Weber told Fox News Digital about what he thinks would happen to New York City in various regions if socialist Zohran Mamdani became mayor in November.

“It can be a mess,” Weber, who represents New York’s 38th Senate District on the Hudson River in New York City, told Fox News Digital about Mamdani’s victory prospects.

“So we’re even seeing some of the big issues that are happening in the city right now. Anyone who’s been in town sees a lot of dangerous situations.”

Weber, the son and brother of a NYPD officer, spoke with Fox News Digital after the city witnessed the deadliest mass shooting in midtown Manhattan in half a century, sparking a fierce war of words among all four mayoral candidates about the city’s public safety.

The unearthed video reveals Mamdani’s “embarrassing” commitment to supporting anti-Israel sanctions as a lawmaker

Mamdani has been heavily criticised for his previous calls to pay off police and returned to the press conference on Wednesday.

Weber told Fox News Digital that the New York City police department needs more resources.

“We must continue to fund the police, and we continue today with some political figures, including Mamdani, who could become the next mayor of New York City.

Weber continued, “So I want a clearer mind to win, and we will continue to support the best police stations in the world. And we need to ensure they continue to support financially and continue to support all the tools they need to do their jobs effectively.”

Weber told Fox News Digital that he represents a district with the first or second Jewish residents per capita in the state, and that many Jewish voters have expressed concern with him about Mamdani’s long history of anti-Israel stance.

“My Jewish residents are very concerned,” explained Weber, who recently wrote an operation on Mamdani and Israeli subjects.

“They have families who live in the borough of New York City. Many of them commute to town as well. So they’re very concerned about the rhetoric that Mamdani has vomited for so long. And you know.

Political experts have suggested that three non-mamdani candidates will need to merge around one candidate to defeat the mamdani.

“The opposition, whoever that candidate is, they need to actually rally behind one candidate and unite.

New York City Candidate Mayor Zohran Mamdani will speak at a press conference on April 1, 2025, during a campaign outside a New York City subway station.

In terms of what New York City’s economy would look like in four years if Mamdani became mayor, Weber pointed out that New York City would return to Albany’s state to drive a large portion of its income, suggesting that Mamdani, labelled as a few communists, would win.

“I think he’s very serious about showing what he wants to do, and that’s really going to have a devastating effect on New York City,” Weber said. “If you chase after the owner of a building, you’ll drive out the wealthy people and go to Florida or other tax-friendly states, it’s going to have a devastating impact not only on New York City, but on the entire state of New York.”

“So he should take him with his words. He wants to have a government-run supermarket. So, these are all codewords of what he hear from socialist countries around the world, from failed socialist countries. November.”

Fox News Digital has contacted the Mamdani campaign for comments.
