Exclusive – The surprising major victory of the Democratic major party of democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani seems to be a gift that continues to give Republicans with the goal of portraying Democrats as extreme extremists.
When asked if Mamdani was giving GOP extra ammunition in the messaging battle, Republican National Committee Michael Whatley replied, “Absolutely.”
“I mean, this is the face of the new Democrat,” Whatley said in an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital.
Whatley argued, “Anyone who wants to lead that party wants to take it to the left… They’re now away from the American people with a pretty fast clip.”
Republicans mercilessly use mum dani as a “socialist” embrace to beat vulnerable Democrats

Mamdani, who took a big step to becoming the city’s first Muslim mayor by persuading Gov. Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates last month to win the Democratic mayor of New York City and is feeding Republicans a lot of feed.
He proposes eliminating fares for taking New York City’s vast bus system, creating rent to freeze Cuny (City University in New York) in city homes “free of charge,” providing “free childcare” for children up to five years old, and establishing a government-run grocery store.
Trump argues New York is facing disastrous consequences if “communist” Mamdani becomes mayor
Also, fueling Republican attacks is a recent news item that has gone viral. They include photos of Mamdani posted online from 2020, showing that she is turning the statue of Christopher Columbus. Talks about Mamdani’s comments last December when he said he would arrest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as mayor, and his recent comments include “I have a lot of critiques of capitalism.”
Republicans have not been more keen on trying to pin down the mum ticks to Democrats across the country running competitive race in elections this year and in the middle of next year.

“He certainly will fit perfectly into the upper democrats who are competing for the lead in that party,” Whatley said of Mamdani. He insisted that “they are not ashamed of that radical awakening part of the party.”
Pointing to last year’s election, when Republicans won the White House and Senate and hugged the majority of the razor-thin-house home, Whatley insisted that “every candidate currently on the democratic side of Aisle will buy into the same failed agenda that was lost in 2024.”

Furthermore, Democrats have questioned the effectiveness of the GOP push.
They argue that there is a world of global differences between a critical blue New York City where Democrats outperform Republicans by about 6-1 margin, and several major battlefield states and swing districts around the country.
“I love New York, but it’s a very liberal place and I don’t know that it’s necessarily an applicable place to other countries,” Democrat Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen told reporters the day after Mamdani’s victory.
In a prominent 2026 race, New Hampshire Democrat Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, Republican candidate and former Senator Scott Brown compiled a photo of Mandani and the rep who went on to give birth to The Alexandria Ocasio Cottas last week in a digital ad compilation of photos of Race Democratic candidate Rep. Chris Pappas.
Speaking to Fox News Digital last week, Pappas said, “Republicans have been running tens of millions of dollars of attack ads against me, trying to portray me as someone I am not.”
“People know me. They know the work I’m doing. They know that I’m one of the most bipartisan members of the House of Representatives because they believe in me solving problems and getting things done,” Papas said. “I’m a New Hampshire Democrat and I’m proud of my track record in Congress.”

Pappas has joined the campaign path by longtime Minnesota Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who spent a lot of time in New Hampshire, joining the campaign path ahead of her third place finish in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary.
“It’s about New Hampshire. They’re going to do this with all these races across the country. They’re trying to add people. People have never even met some of these people. And they’re continuing to do that. “For me, this is about what’s going on for the people in this state.”
