The husband of actress Chanel Banks has confirmed his wife’s safety after Los Angeles police announced that her wife, who was reported missing several days ago, has been found.
In a phone interview with NBCLA, Carlos Jimenez declared that the police findings were accurate in that his wife was found safe. The confirmation came after Banks’ cousin and mother held a press conference in Playa Vista, denying the Los Angeles Police Department’s claims, saying Banks had not been located.
“Police have confirmed that she is safe. They saw her in person and provided me with photos as well. So, yes, I know she is alive and well. ” Jimenez said. “Everything she said in their posts, other than what she said about my family, tracks what she told me and what she told me about my family. did.”
Jimenez referenced a message posted on the “Gossip Girl” actor’s personal Instagram page, where he said he was finally freed from his mother.
Jimenez admitted she hadn’t spoken to Banks directly, fearing she was angry at him for calling police, but said she was relieved to hear authorities had found her.
“When she left the house, she told me she didn’t want her family to know exactly where she was, she didn’t want to talk to the police, but you know, that’s the law,” Jimenez said. said. “Police made sure she was safe. They saw her in person and provided me with photos.”
Jimenez shared with NBCLA one of the photos law enforcement sent when they discovered the Texas bank.
But relatives insist the images shared by law enforcement are not of the bank and that it is a fraudster who showed police an expired driver’s license.
“What I saw was a woman who didn’t look like my cousin. The woman in this body camera footage was much thinner. She was wearing things that my cousin wouldn’t normally wear. The voice was different. The accent was different. My cousin has a New York accent, and she grew up in New York,” said Banks’ cousin, Daniel Tori Shin.
On Wednesday, Los Angeles police told NBCLA that they received a call from authorities in San Antonio, Texas, informing them that Banks had been found safe. Police said there were no signs of foul play.
