First Fox: The Democratic governor posted a passionate photo with a Chinese Communist diplomat on Wednesday evening, saying he was “thank you for the opportunity” to meet him.
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healy went viral late last year after vowing to use “all tools” to combat President Donald Trump’s deportation, but she and one of her top appointees highlighted a meeting with New York’s Consul General of the Republic of China, Chen Lee.
“Massachusetts has a vibrant Chinese-American community and China is one of our biggest trading partners,” Healey wrote in the X-Post. “I am pleased to welcome the ambassador. He would like to thank the People’s Republic’s bishop to China for the opportunity to go to the State Capitol and discuss future collaborations!”
All three photos include Healy and Li, whose jurisdiction covers almost 12 states. However, one photo included Yvonne Hao, the current secretary of Massachusetts economic development. Hao’s last official day in her role was earlier this month, according to the local outlet. However, she still works for the Healy administration as an unpaid advisor.

A press release from Healy’s office on Wednesday highlighted how Massachusetts and China “shared economic and cultural connections,” in addition to their “commitment to continue working together for the benefit of our people and our economy.”
“China is Massachusetts’ third largest trading partner, with over $7.2 billion in goods being exchanged in 2024. In 2024, Massachusetts imported $3.4 billion in goods from China, including toys, games, sports goods, apparel and accessories,” the press release continued. “Massachusetts exported $3.8 billion in 2024 to China, including industrial machinery, medical equipment, and plastics.”
She later appeared to try and justify the meeting by highlighting that “meeting with foreign officials when she visits Massachusetts is a priority.”
Repetitive praise of the CCP and reflecting the party’s topic that Uyghur genocide allegations were “manufactured,” Li quoted it and responded to Healy’s post saying that he was “honoured to have a very enjoyable conversation” with Healy. He added that “they are focusing on cooperation between China and Massachusetts.”

Fox News Digital reports widely on the impact Li and his predecessors had in the US. This brings the comfort to democratic politicians like Senate minority leaders Chuck Schumer, Dn.Y. and Governor Kathy Hochul.
Chen, like his predecessor, Huang Ping, repeatedly praised the CCP and denied allegations of China’s massacre against the Uyghur population, which has been condemned by many people on the world stage, including the United Nations.
“It’s hard to imagine how “genocide” and “forced labor” could be formed in a place where the population is steadily growing, society is safe and open, and people enjoy a happy life. Where does the accusations come from? ” wrote Chen in 2021. “The ‘genocide’ was claimed by former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the final day of his term. It is based on the descriptions of several militant anti-Chinese individuals who have not been to Xinjiang for many years, as well as a few so-called witnesses who have proven to be trained actors and “explained by “eicholes” and “so-called witnesses.”
“The Chinese Communist Party is always looking for ways to penetrate American businesses and civil society. It should not make their work easier,” Michael Sobolik, a US-China relations expert and senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, previously told Fox News Digital.
Earlier this year, Chen posted multiple posts about his participation in the New York City parade. This included Schumer and anti-Trump Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. He also met with Senator Richard Blumenthal’s brother-in-law, brightened up the buildings in the Imperial State and welcomed the New Year, a tradition between the Chinese Consulate and the Imperial State buildings that date back over a decade.
Prior to Chen, Ping was in his position between 2018 and 2024. Ping was implied in an unsealed indictment against Gov. Kathy Hochul’s former deputy chief of staff, Linda Sun, who was charged “with violating and conspiring to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act, visa fraud, alien smuggling, and money laundering conspiracy,” according to a Justice Department press release.
Huang Ping was involved in a sealed indictment against Linda Sang, former vice chief of staff of Governor Kathy Hochul, who was accused of violating and conspiring to conspiracy to conspiracy to the Foreign Agent Registration Act, visa fraud, alien smuggling and money laundering conspiracy.

The indictment revealed that. Governor Hochul wanted to mention China’s “Uighur situation” for the New Year’s message for the month of 2021, but the light-form of minority groups persecuted by the Chinese government was ultimately omitted after the Sun overturned the speechwriter.
The indictment claims that the speechwriter revealed to Ping what he wanted to include, but after admitting that she was “starting to lose her temper” as a speechwriter, she insisted that she would not let her boss mention Uighurs. The indictment later details other interactions she had with Ping, saying he gave her parents a Nanjing style salted duck prepared by his chef in exchange for her help in affecting the governor’s policies.
