Great deals on your favorite meals for summer 2025

Starting tomorrow, Dine LA is back. In its 17th year, LA’s biggest restaurant week offers a Prix-Fixe menu starting from $15 per person, but many locations have opted to offer menus in the most expensive and widest categories. For the next two weeks, Angelenos will earn just a handful of small discounts at restaurants in the city, including what I consider to be the best restaurants in the city. For those who were trying to splurge anyway, you could also win a 2 Michelin Star meal with a $75 discount on Melis in Santa Monica.

For all those hunting for real bargains, I have found 17 different locations in Los Angeles. My personal favorites include the $25 and $35 meal deals from Soban in Koreatown. (A real lover of Korean food knows that the free side dishes given to your meal are one of the best expressions of the true culinary abilities of a particular restaurant.) Did you say Sobang is also one of the best restaurants in town?

Another really great option is the $65 prixfix menu for goats from the Arts District, including matcha tresleche with rhubarb strawberry sorbet for 5 family style dishes and desserts. While Top Chef Alumni Stephanie Izzard’s globally inspired small plate restaurant is often overlooked by all the other great options in the neighborhood, where there are many destination restaurants, the Dine LA menu may remind you why this brick plant-filled restaurant is the perfect option to put in your back pocket the next night in downtown Los Angeles.

Until Somni resumed last November and uploaded all the other restaurants in West Hollywood (I recently won three Michelin stars!), Ardor was my top dining pick for city neighbours. The stylish hotel restaurant within West Hollywood Edition offers a cinematic dining room and a front menu of vegetables in a lush outdoor patio. The $65 Prix-Fixe menu offers a selection of Spanish octopus or tandoor carrots as an appetizer, in addition to the eatery’s signature tomato-top milk bread. For mains, choose from skirt steak, king crab taliatel, or Aarder’s outstanding sweet potato curry. I personally haven’t tried chocolate espresso torte on the Ardor’s Dine La menu, but I loved all the desserts I tried in the restaurant, so it could also be a safe bet.

Finally, we recommend bookmarking two restaurants that have not yet released their LA menu for meals. This is Mr. T of Hollywood and Sushi Kisen of Arcadia. Both restaurants offer menus in categories over $65. Mr. T serves a contemporary Parisian cuisine production at République Alum Alisa Vannah. Co-owned by music mogul Jay-Z (the office is on the second floor), it is one of the best French restaurants in the city, with a luxurious patio filled with yarn lights and fire pits.

As for sushi queens, San Gabriel Valley Sushi Restaurant is one of my favourite places in LA County. Even on normal days, the counter omakaze is a relative bargain. Despite the fact that it takes me over an hour to drive in normal traffic, I spent my birthday weekend shaping at Arcadia for the restaurant’s second anniversary Kaizendon. The set also came with a side of marinated sashimi. Sushi Kisen hasn’t published the Dine LA menu yet, but you can rest assured that whatever it offers will steal in terms of fish quality and overall value.

It’s true that most of the Dine La Prix-Fixe menu is not actually a trade, but these handfuls of options are enough to keep you happy during the summer edition. Bon Apettite!
