Actress Ellen Pompeo’s legacy is now part of Hollywood history.
On Tuesday morning, she won her 2,809th star on the glorious Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Pompeo is a fan favorite of “Grey’s Anatomy” and has starred as Meredith Gray since the show premiered in 2005. Since then, she has won the executive producer title and directed the spinoff series “Station 19.”
Show creators Shonda Rhimes and “Gray’s Anatomy” Costar Debbie Allen hosted the ceremony.
“After the season, fans worshiped Meredith. They spent Thursday nights with Meredith. They cried, laughed and loved at Meredith. “But for all of us that we see, for those of us who are honored to know her, it’s Ellen, who we see, and that’s the most important role she can play.

The owner of Shondaland described Pompeo as fierce, interesting, thoughtful and caring.
When it was time to tell Pompeo, she urged the crowd to “keep Hollywood Boulevard clean” and reopened Arklight Scissors.
While it took her a while for her to receive her stars, she revealed that she was surrounded by stars “every time.”
“This doesn’t happen overnight, it doesn’t happen easily. You need a village,” she explained. “I was very fortunate to be surrounded by many stars who do my thing every day and do it in this town beautifully. People who don’t get attention, people who don’t take photos, my team works every day for years.
In 2007, she was nominated for Golden Globes for her best performance by the actress in a TV series drama. That same year, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding performances by TV drama ensemble.
She also launched her own production company and has appeared in many other TV shows and films.
Her star is located on Hollywood Boulevard near the Tequila Mexican Restaurant.
