Some people are offering to buy street vendor stock and stay home as many people are afraid of going to work or fearing being detained in an ice raid.
The group is heading to Southern California payment vendors and has promised they will not be able to work on the streets.
An elderly woman selling flowers says she has to work so that she can eat. She is then given $800 to pay for the rent and is told not to go outside.
Working with the Singer Realty Group, the Local Hearts Foundation is a group that seeks to protect vendors and give them the money they need to survive.
K-Town for All is another organisation that runs Buy Outs.
They told NBC4 that so far they have raised $60,000 for 36 families in Koreatown, covering street vendor rent, bills and food for 30 days.
“I’ve seen videos of Los Angeles, Bell, Lynnwood, Southgate, South Central, fruit benders, car washes and flower benders being taken from the side of the road,” said Andreina Niss of K-Town. “LA is an immigrant town and we will do our best we can.”
K-Town tells all NBC4s that they have a waiting list for families in need of help, so that they will not stop raising funds until the ICE attacks end, and don’t stop raising funds on social media.
