A group of men terrified food truck employees and customers on Sunday in a disturbing attack on camera while police investigated.
Tacos Los Poblanos said the Florence location of Avalon Boulevard will be closed until further notice after a large group destroyed food trucks and equipment vans. Surveillance footage posted by the business showed the group using bats and throwing items at the business to destroy them.
“They came out of nowhere,” said the owner’s daughter. He asked to hide his identity from fear of family safety.
The incident was reported just after midnight on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Officers were called to the scene to report a fatal weapon assault.
The owner’s daughter said several employees were physically attacked by the assailant. She said that one worker was severely beaten with a bat and he had to be hospitalized.
“He has a family. He has a wife whom he’s looking forward to,” she said. “So, this is devastating.”
LAPD has not released a detailed description of the individuals sought in connection with the attack. The case is under investigation.
