The dramatic video shows the moment a gun-armed person fired into a California Highway Patrol Squad vehicle during a street takeover reported in Compton.
The footage obtained by KTLA shows the end of the reported acquisition and a squad car trying to leave the area as a person runs on foot and fires a two-shot towards the rear of the CHP vehicle.

After the shot was fired, police cars quickly surged, with gunmen and others in the area fleeing in the opposite direction on foot.

Authorities confirmed to KTLA that a CHP spokesman had come to KTLA that the only call in the area was around 2am near Atlantic Avenue and Compton Boulevard, but that “about possible streets.” We have checked the information with KTLA. We will take it over.
A CHP spokesman said no additional information was recorded following the response.
