A man killed a woman and injured a man who tried to intervene during a discussion in the Harvard Heights community in Los Angeles, authorities said Sunday.
Officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of South St. Andrews Place near Pico Boulevard and West Avenue around 10:30pm on Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The suspect, a 60-year-old man, was arguing with a 50-year-old woman who began seeking help, police said. A man in the car stood up to intervene, and the gunman shot the woman and the man.
Both victims were rushed to a hospital, where the woman was wounded by a bullet. The man had stable vital signs, police said.
The gunman escaped the scene on foot.
