Police were looking for a gunman who officials believed were wearing security uniforms when they shot two women on an Inglewood university campus.
Officers responded to the shooting at Spartan College on Air Boulevard before 4pm on Friday.
LAFD responded to an emergency medical call in which two women were taken to hospital. According to the LAFD, both women were transported in dangerous conditions.
“While I was eating, I heard some gunshots in the same room…we didn’t know what was going on. I thought it was outside,” said an instructor at the University of Spartan. “It’s just that I’m still in shock. I really can’t put it in words right now.”
The instructor added that the victim was “the sweetest woman” and that he was with them just before.
There are no active shooters, but police are still searching for suspects.
Officials say the suspected shooter is believed to have been dressed as a security guard at the time of the shooting. The mayor added that police are going to their rooms and cleaning up the campus building.
Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology is a specialized training school about a mile away from LAX.
