For 80 years, the Ohio-born ice cream chain Handel ice cream has been pleased with a newly created scoop and over 100 flavors (from banana cream pie to blueberry cheesecake chunks, caramel pretzel crunch to cinnamon graham crackers). In fact, Handel is so beloved that it was named “the number one ice cream on earth” by National Geographic. Imagine our excitement when we hear that Handel’s ice cream will not only open a new parlor in Burbank, but also celebrate the opening of the store with a free ice cream for a year.

Yes, the new Handel ice cream location will mark the brand’s 80th anniversary starting Thursday, May 15th at 353 N. Pass Ave. in Burbank, California. The new 2,100-square-foot front-post base, led by couples Phil and Molly Kay, will be offering Handel’s signature ice cream at the facility, featuring seasonal selections and 48 spinning flavors, including 48 spinning flavors, including Black Cherry, Blue Monster, Butter Pecan and Rocky Mocha Blast.
“We opened our first location in Ross Ferris a year ago. It was within walking distance of our home. We loved it so much that we wanted to do it again.” “Molly and I find new things to love at every step of the process. We have an incredible team that is excited to make and scoop up ice cream. They are as enthusiastic as connecting with our customers and bringing a little simple joy and happiness to what’s going on in life.”
And speaking of simple joy, the first 50 guests who arrive at the Burbank location to celebrate the grand opening will receive a special offer of free ice cream for a year. Yes, all year round. (Some fine prints: Sorry, kids, you must be over 18 to receive free ice cream for a year.)
Opening hours at Handel’s new Burbank location are Sunday through Wednesday from noon to 10pm and Thursday through Saturday from noon to 11pm.
