Los Angeles County prosecutors filed five felony charges against the president and its manager, Parter Medical Products Inc., alleging that they exposed employees to dangerous levels of ethylene oxide and concealed the dangers through forged documents and illegal waste practices.
District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman has announced accusations against Putter Medical Products, which operates as a sterilization service for putters. Both men face counts of serious hidden danger, forgery, filing false documents, disposing of hazardous waste in unauthorized locations, and failing to disclose illegal storage of hazardous waste without permission.

Prosecutors argue that the defendants were unable to act even after learning that some workers were exposed to unsafe levels of ethylene oxide, a colourless gas associated with cancer, reproductive damage and neurological damage. Chemical odors cannot be detected until they reach harmful concentrations.
“This case sends a clear message. If you expose workers to dangerous chemicals and then forge records or mislead regulators, we’ll come after you,” Hochman said in a statement. “Companies that cut corners and hide dangers not only put their lives at risk, but are violating the trust of the people.”

More than 20 members of the District Attorney’s Office served as search warrants at the Carson facility in Parthl on July 17, in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the California Department of Toxic Substances Control.
Foroughi and Elmaziati are scheduled to be arrested on August 5th in Compton Superior Court. Prosecutors are seeking $125,000 bail each. If convicted of being charged, they could potentially reach up to six years in state prisons.
