Heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne passed away at the age of 76, his family said in a statement.
Osborne reunited with his black Sabbath bandmate a few weeks ago and was reunited for a farewell show in England.
“I don’t know how I feel – I’m so grateful,” the 76-year-old Sky News reported that he told the crowd when he performed from the throne on a stage at Villa Park in early July.
In a statement, he said his family had died “surrounded by love.”
“It’s more sadness than mere words that we can tell you that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne must report that she has passed away this morning. He is surrounded by love with his family.
Ozzy Osbourne was a pioneer in the heavy metal genre as a solo performer with his band Black Sabbath. His most famous songs include “Iron Man,” “Demon,” “War Pig,” “Crazy Train,” and “Change.”
He also found a different kind of fame in the expanding reality television genre of the time in the early 2000s. He starred in “The Osbornes” along with his wife Sharon and children Jack and Kelly.
Masborne suffered from health in recent years and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
Born in Manchester, England, John Michael Osborne, Osborne became known as the “Prince of Darkness” in his persona on stage.
Rocker was famous for his on-stage antics, including in 1982 when he bit the head of a live bat on a stage in Des Moines, Iowa.
That same year, he was arrested for urinating at the Alamo while in Texas.
A pioneer in the sound and appearance of heavy metal, and his heavy makeup and goth image, Osborne was led twice to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He first took office as part of Black Sabbath in 2006, then in 2024 with his own rights.
For decades, Osborne kept no secret the fact that he publicly marveled at his longevity despite his actions. He often admitted his wife Sharon to his survival.
Osborn leaves his wife Sharon and his children, Amy, Kelly and Jack, and his two older children, Jessica and Louis, from his first marriage, and several grandchildren.
