He’s back!
A while later, longtime weather anchor Mark Kriski returned to KTLA 5 Morning News.
On Thursday, Mark revealed he had received the vocal chord procedure on the right, but the recovery took longer than expected.
“That procedure doesn’t last forever. You need to start over. “So I’ll do it on Friday. It was my first time. I’m back on Monday. Everything is fine. Tuesday is not fine. Thursday, my voice) hasn’t returned yet.”
Mark’s doctor then advised him to wait for it. What was supposed to take weeks ended up taking months. His doctor told him to “hang there” because he couldn’t do anything else.

“So basically I had laryngitis,” asked Jessica Holmes.
“Yeah, two months, exactly two months, and now I’m back, it’s a great feeling. It was nothing that hurts, it wasn’t just full, the voice wasn’t rich,” he said.
During his recovery, Mark became a grocery shopper at home, as his wife Jennifer Gould was working there.
“What did you learn during this holiday?” Eric Spielman asked in March.
“What’s on the five left side of the aisle, cleaning supplies,” he joked. “The funniest thing is, on Monday, one of the checkers (Ghos Store) said, “Mark, you really need to get back to work.” ”

Mark thanked all the viewers who reached out and wished him the best.
“I’ll come back and everything’s going to be fine,” he assured everyone. “I’m not going to have these long absences anymore. I’ve finished for that. I’m telling Eric too, I’m not ready to retire. I have no plans.”
In May 2024, he suffered a mild stroke that kicked him out for several months almost a year ago.
He laughed, saying he could only shop for grocery and needed to gain a hobby.
Now he’s thinking about golf and canasta.
“I remember playing canasta with my grandma,” he said. “Take it home. Let’s start the Canasta Club!”
