A hit-and-run suspect who seriously injured two teenage boys when he crashed into a crowd of street occupiers in Anaheim is now in custody, police said Monday.

Investigators say video shows Hassan Hamid Ali was the driver of the black Dodge Charger that hit several pedestrians at the intersection of Orangewood Avenue and State College Boulevard around 2 a.m. Friday. It was determined that he had been captured.

Video leading up to the accident shows the Charger belting out a series of donuts and burnouts at high speed, narrowly missing the crowd on the sidelines.

Ali continued to spin and at one point lost control, hitting several passers-by in the middle of the intersection and pinning two 19-year-old boys under the car.

The car moved forward and the wheels rolled over one of the bystanders and the rear passenger side was seen to lift.

Videos on social media showed people trying to lift the vehicle to rescue the young men, one of whom was covered in blood and appeared barely conscious.

The injured teens were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but authorities confirmed Friday night that they were in stable condition.

A crowd attacked the vehicle, but the driver fled the scene on foot in the chaos before police arrived.

Anaheim police said investigators located Ali within three days of the incident, arrested him, and charged him with felony hit-and-run and speeding.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information to contact the department at 714-765-1900 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
