tense. Neurite. Political. Emotional.
It all came out on the final Thursday of the Canadian Team 4 Nations showdown, and ultimately led to the former victory.
Despite taking the lead first, they ultimately chased 2-1, but Conor McDavid worked overtime on Canada’s golden goal after 8:18 played.
Fans have received mixed reactions on social media, ranging from patriotic take to typical rival jokes. In the reaction, Justin Trudeau, Canada’s 23rd Prime Minister, was involved.
Team USA’s loss means they have not won the best Canada in the final or championship series of international tournaments since the 1996 Hockey World Cup.
Here’s how social media fans responded to Canada’s victory over the US:
You cannot take our country – and you cannot take our game.

Congratulations to Team Canada to the brothers and sisters to the north with a big victory. Team USA played hard, but it wasn’t our night. What I love is the amount of people who first experienced the incredible sport of hockey for the first time for this game, and now I’m a fan.
