For decades, the glamour and charm of Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood has been helped by a huge, burning cowboy hat. Soon, these lights will eventually flicker.
The famous Arby sign at 5920 W. Sunset will descend in the near future and give way to new doctrines. The restaurant itself closed permanently last year after 55 years of business.
A spokesman for rapidly growing cane growing the fast-growing chicken chain confirmed that KTLA will take over the place. The new nurturing cane is expected to open in the late or early fall of summer 2026.

A spokesman told KTLA that the location is a “strategic fit” for the company as it seeks growth in the Los Angeles market.
“We provide access to a strong daytime workforce, including a crowded residential hub that is in a position to serve both Eastern Hollywood and LA Central, as well as a nearby entertainment studio like Netflix,” the spokesman said. “And more, there are so few drive-through options along this series of Sunset Boulevards that it is an ideal place to provide the speed, convenience and quality that customers crave.”
Raising Cane’s will be renovating the current building and maintaining a drive-thru while “respecting the iconic character of Sunset Blvd.”
For the giant cowboy hat sign, don’t worry about Angelenos, you may be able to see it at a nearby Arby location.
A Raising Cane spokesperson told KTLA that discussions are underway with Arby representatives about the signing plan. The spokesman indicated that Irby wanted to move the sign to another store in the LA area.
Since last summer, this place has only had Prince St. Pizza. It is not yet clear when it will close.
