Los Angeles County officials have removed several homeless encampments in Woodland Hills and Viver Grove, where more than 30 people lived.

The effort was part of the county’s internal safety operations, a program designed to help homeless residents enter housing from the streets.

The Woodland Hills camp was located in front of Warner Center Park. The two Viva Grove camps were between business, support facilities and local housing.

The operation’s photos showed county workers helping homeless residents collect their belongings before being transported by bus to temporary housing.

“All of us who get out of the streets and enter the provisional housing and services are taking a step forward. I am grateful to all of our partners for their efforts,” said Bob Blumenfield of LA County Council.

Since the program debuted in December 2022, Inside Safe has moved 4,037 homeless residents off the streets. Approximately 905 residents have moved to permanent housing, with 86 camps being addressed.

“The public spaces where neighbors gather are exemplified by the spirit of our city,” said LA Mayor Karen Bass. “By connecting people living on the streets and on the parks with safe housing and support services, we ensure the health and well-being of all our residents and the entire community.”
