Legendary horror film director, writer, composer and actor John Carpenter sat for an exclusive interview with KTLA, headlined this year’s Midsummer Scream – Halloween & Horror Convention in Long Beach.
Considered one of the most influential voices in the horror genre, Carpenter first engraved his name on the history of the film and the Hollywood Walk of Fame when he directed and composed the original “Halloween” in 1978.

“It’s fine. I was called worse,” Carpenter told KTLA’s Omar Lewis. “I love it.”

This Midsummer Scream-Halloween & Horror Convention is not only about promoting Storm King comics, but also about enjoying the event itself and talking to fans.
“Connecting with horror fans is my favorite part,” Carpenter said of the event. “I love seeing them. They’re really nice people. And they love fear and they love what I did if it worked out.”
