A lake man employed as a nurse at several Riverside County hospitals was arrested Tuesday, authorities said.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that it began investigating the incident in June 2025 after a special victim unit received information about inappropriate contact between hospital employees and unconscious patients.
The suspect is 40-year-old Lauro Gonzales Jr.
On July 15, investigators conducted a vehicle stop near Interstate 15 and Temescal Canyon Road. There, Gonzalez was safely taken into custody. A search warrant was executed at his residence and authorities say they found additional evidence related to the case.

Gonzalez has been booked at the COIS Bird Detention Center and faces charges of sexual penetration of an unconscious person.
