Exclusive: The House Energy and Commerce Committee is set up to “revitalize America’s beautiful and clean coal industry,” as President Donald Trump said.
Committee Chairman Brett Guthrie, R-KY. told Fox News Digital that the National Coal Council law would have completed the committee on Wednesday and likely passed the full home.
Rep. Michael Rulli of R-Ohio and Riley Moore of Rw.v., lead laws to reestablish Congress, effectively cancelled by former President Joe Biden, supporting the clean coal industry for a number of reasons, including energy security at the time of uncertainty in the Middle East.
Rulli told Fox News Digital that the Biden administration’s efforts to coal coal and the coal industry’s warrants are “intentional” efforts to “clean coal, kill work and make America depend on foreign energy.”

The National Coal Council was key to improving key parts of the low-emissions technology and energy sector toolkit. They dissolved in 2021 after the Biden administration allowed the charter to expire.
Originally established in the 1980s as a 50-member advisory committee, it led the government on coal markets and technology in the coal sector through five administrations.
The Biden administration lapsed the council’s charter during his term. Then a rep. David McKinley, RW.V. also confirmed that at the time.
“Once again, we know that energy security is national security,” Guthrie told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

“It’s time to take action to secure a grid and promote Baseload America’s energy production to protect American families and businesses, and to isolate themselves from hostile countries.”
Guthrie added that the situation in Iran is another reminder that Congress must act to unleash American energy and enable us to create the powers our communities rely on within the country.

Domestic, Coal Power supports hundreds of thousands of jobs, including Guthrie’s Kentucky, Rulli’s Ohio, and Moore’s West Virginia.
“President Trump knows that coal is key to unleashing control of America’s energy, making Heartland religious and winning the AI arms race. The National Coal Council plays an important role in these efforts,” Moore told Fox News Digital.
“We can’t afford to delay as our global competitors constantly bring new coal plants online and strengthen our economy,” he added.
The bill will further act on Trump’s executive order 14241, focusing on clean calls, to help meet the increased electricity demand needed for exponential forecast growth in AI data centers across the country.
Advocates also want to bolster coal as a source of power needed for land manufacturing and supply chains. Another goal of political rights.

Rulli said the original council was a “pilot” of US energy policy and “the voice of the industry that has built the country and driven our economy. That exclusion was not a coincidence.”
“The left wants to stop it forever,” he said.
“This bill won’t make that happen… We must restore the National Coal Council and protect the country’s energy backbone before it’s too late.”
Rulli, like West Virginia and Kentucky, came from his colleagues, had driven the manufacturing sector for decades, offering thousands of good-paid jobs in his Youngstown area.
