House Democrats charged for being on the DCCC’s “frontline” list

Confronted with accusations of bribery and acting as a foreign agent, Rep. Henry Cueler, is currently on the “frontline list” of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for the 2026 election, which is currently being scrutinized by the group’s GOP rivals.

Kuerer, who represents districts along the tropical border, was not part of a program to support Democrats at risk of losing the election in 2024, but won reelection in November.

“The DCCC, throwing cash at Henry Culler, a charged MP facing bribery and accusations of foreign agents, is certainly an option. Will other frontline Democrats pump campaign cash to protect corrupt and sleazy politicians?” NRCC spokesman Mike Marinella said in a statement Thursday.

Democrats acknowledge that the Biden administration “didn’t focus well” on suppressing illegal immigration.

According to a news release at the time, the Justice Department under the Biden administration has indicted Kuerer and his wife for allegedly earning about $600,000 in bribery from an Azerbaijani-owned energy company and a Mexican bank.

“I want to make it clear that my wife and I are innocent of these allegations. Everything I did in Congress was to serve the people of South Texans. Before I took action, I actively sought legal advice from the House Ethics Committee.

At the time of the indictment, President Donald Trump said he may have been involved in border politics.

“Biden indicted Henry Culler for not playing a bent Joe’s open border game with respected Democrats,” Trump said in the Truthful Social Post at the time. “He was for border control, so they said, ‘Let’s use the FBI and DOJ to take him out!” This is how they run it.

Cuellar recently told Fox News that he opposed several aspects of the Biden administration’s approach to the border crisis.

According to Punchbowl News, in 2024, some Democrats opposed his campaign in the primary because of his belief that abortion should be a state matter.

His office did not respond to requests for comment in time for publication. The two “advisors” linked to the incident have already pleaded guilty, according to the Texas Tribune.

As for Cuellar, his trial was pushed back this year. DCCC declined to comment.

The DCCC program has 26 current members of Congress. They plan to invest resources to hold their seats.

“These 26 House Democrats are focusing on combat testing and lasers on the issue of pocketbooks. Democrats are poised to seize a majority in 2026, and these members will help us do that,” the DCCC tweeted Thursday.

Republicans have a majority of small homes that they want to defend and expand in 2026.
