Members of the Conservative Freedom Caucus are warning that, as is currently written, they have serious problems with Senate versions of the “big, beautiful bill” of President Donald Trump.

A group of GOP rebels argued in an official statement Sunday that the Senate bill would add $1.3 trillion to the federal deficit, while the bill passed in the House would increase the federal deficit by $72 billion.

“Even without interest costs, it’s $651 billion more than the agreed budget framework,” the statement read.

The Senate is currently working through the bill and is expected to close on Monday or even Tuesday.

The Senate bill adds $1 trillion to raise debt limits compared to the House version, and will forever extend certain corporate tax cuts under President Donald Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Employment Act (TCJA).

It also includes a $25 billion Rural Hospital Fund to offset issues surrounding Medicaid reductions, and several specific new additions aimed at ease tax credits for Whale for R-Alaska Senators.

The Senate operates under a mechanism called the “current policy baseline.” This would be extended by effectively extending the cost of extending the TCJA tax cuts by calculating it as a de facto operational policy rather than calculating the cost as if it had not been set.

Without Congress’ actions, the TCJA tax cut will expire at the end of 2025.

DEM delay tactics end, and debate begins with Trump’s “big and beautiful bill.”

But House conservatives have warned that the bill has serious issues.

Rep. Ralph Norman and R-Mo, members of the House Freedom Caucus. Rep. Eric Burrison of the lawmaker said the bill could face sudden odds if no changes were made.

Both said lawmakers could fail in procedural votes across the House before even contesting the measure itself. Rules votes have traditionally been taken to allow discussions on the law before lawmakers consider it.

“If that goes through [the House Rules Committee]I don’t think it will survive on the floor in its current form. You know, we told the senator, “Norman told Fox News Digital.

Norman is R-La. Mike Johnson, the speaker of the film, did a “good job,” but added about the Senate, “They have fighters…but we need to have certain things that follow our home version.”

But as the Senate works through a parade of amendments from both Democrats and Republicans, the law could still change before it reaches the House.

Burlison said it could depend on the fate of the revision by Sen. R-Fla’s Sen. Rick Scott.

If passed, the change will roll back the current 90% rate the government pays for Medicaid’s growing population through the Federal Medical Assistance Rate (FMAP), returning to a low expansion rate of 50%.

Scott’s proposal could save hundreds of billions of billions on the plan, in addition to the nearly trillion dollars that the Senate plan has already saved on Medicaid spending.

“I don’t know how the Senate is doing will pass the house [Rick Scott’s amendment] It is not passed to a minimum. We’ll probably need to cut more spending than that, but that will lead most of us there,” Burlison told Fox News Digital without commenting on the House GOP leader.

He predicted that otherwise a House-wide rule ballot could potentially “kill” the bill.

In fact, several House Freedom Congress members have taken him to X to publicly urge Senate Republicans to approve Scott’s amendments.

“All Republican senators should vote for Sen. Rick Scott’s very reasonable “eliminating theft from Medicaid” FMAP amendment,” said Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La. posted.

Fox News Digital contacted Mike Johnson speakers to comment on the comments of House Freedom Caucus members.

In particular, it was stripped of the law that originally a key provision in the House bill was not “not complying with Birds.”

National Debt Tracker: American Taxpayer (you) is on the hook at 36,215,806,064,740.36 as of 6/27/25

“Birdbus” is a process during the budget adjustment process that is combs through the bill, where senators, nonpartisan and unelected civil servants, who are tasked with advising on Senate policy, comply with strict budget guidelines for the settlement process.

Republicans are using the budget settlement process to advance Trump’s agenda on tax, borders, energy, defense and debt through one large law.

A budget settlement allows Republicans to pass the bill bypassing Democrats’ opposition by lowering the Senate threshold for passing from 60 to 51 votes.

They aim to have a bill on Trump’s desk by July 4th.

A GOP aide told Fox News Digital: “The Senate version includes more bird-compliant savings than homes, expanding current tax policy as revenue neutrality, and envisages a very undervalued type of growth the last time.”

The aide said the White House Economic Advisors Council would generate $4.1 trillion in economic growth thanks to tax persistence.

Senate Republicans argue that the bill will lead to a 10-year cut in spending $1.6 trillion.
