Former President Joe Biden’s longtime allies told investigators on the House Oversight Committee that if the former president won a 2024 re-election bid, he could have paid a total of $8 million.
Michael Donilon served as senior adviser to the president throughout Biden’s four-year term. However, their relationship dates back decades. Donilon first worked for Biden in 1981, when he was a US Senator in Delaware.
He is the latest former supervisory official to sit with the committee behind a closed door to investigate whether the former president’s inner circle conceals evidence of suspicion of mental decline and whether executive actions were signed without Biden’s full awareness.
Donilon said he didn’t know what Autoopen was being used for and didn’t recall that he had knowledge of Autoopen, a source told Fox News Digital.

But Donilon, the top strategist of both Biden’s 2020 and 2024 campaigns, would have clearly scored a total of $8 million if Biden had won.
Donilon told investigators he was paid $4 million to tackle Biden’s 2024 campaign, sources said information reported by Axios reporter Alex Thompson and CNN host Jake Tapper in his book “Original Sin: Biden’s Declute, its cover-up, and his miserable choice to run again.”
Plus, the $4 million he would have won would have come if Biden won.

Donilon told investigators “I believe Congressional critics and Democrats overreacted after Joe Biden’s disastrous debate.” Donilon also claimed that Biden’s communication skills have “become stronger” during his time as president, sources said.
“In an interview, Donilon admitted that Joe Biden’s presence was not so much of a command and could stumble over more words. Donilon said he was frustrated and knew it would be difficult to get past the visuals people were seeing of President Biden,” the source said.
In his opening statement obtained by Fox News Digital, Donilon highlighted his 40-year relationship with Biden, promoting the performance of the Democratic administration through the Covid-19 pandemic, subsequent recovery in job growth, and the Inflation Reduction Act and other legislative victory.

“I was with President Joe Biden from the first to the last day of his inauguration. What I saw was a leader who was deeply involved, both at home and abroad, and was in charge of serious issues every day.
“I thought the experience was very valuable to the country. I continued to believe that President Biden was the best person leading the country on the day he took the oath of office, so I continued to believe it served as president every day.”
Donilon is an eighth former Biden White House official led by House Supervisory Committee Chairman James Kommer and R-KY.
Fox News Digital has requested comment from Donilon’s lawyers and Biden’s representatives.
