The House has passed President Donald Trump’s $9.4 billion plan to support federal funding for foreign aid, PBS and NPR.
The vote was primarily along the party line, but Democrats never voted for the bill.
Trump’s allies considered the package as a test run to see if a stomach cut, which was widely seen as a drooping fruit across the GOP, could do stomach amputation.

Legal spending cuts include a $8.3 billion rollback in funding to the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and a more than $1 billion cut for public broadcasting, which told the federal dollars to NPR and PBS.

Republican leaders claimed that the cuts have been cut to “wake” programs, including $1 million in Haitian voter IDs and $3 million in Iraxesame Street.
In NPR and PBS, conservatives have long denounced the two networks of stealing federal money, while becoming more and more liberal with bias rather than focusing on equity.
However, some moderate Republicans were concerned about the impact of legislation on serious disease prevention studies in Africa.

Others argue that a complete cut in federal funding for public broadcasting would disproportionately hurt the small local press that rely on it.
However, the law will eventually be passed and sent to the Senate for consideration.
The $9.4 billion proposal is called the Recissions Package, a mechanism to block the White House from congressional approval of funding.
When sent to Capitol Hill, lawmakers will have 45 days to approve the rescue proposal. Otherwise, you will be deemed rejected.

Such measures are only necessary for the majority to pass in the House and Senate. But that’s not a simple feat of the thin majority of Republicans in both rooms.
If passed, Republican leaders hope that the bill will be the first of several rescue packages that codify spending cuts identified by Elon Musk’s Government Efficiency (DOGE).
